AMA Find a Doctor App

The AMA Find a Doctor App is the latest initiative from AMA Queensland that helps to locate a General Practitioner in Australia.  

FEATURES

• Use the app to locate an AMA GP anytime or anywhere in Australia by searching for a doctor or practice by:
  • Name
  • Suburb
  • Postcode
  • State
• Call the doctor directly from your iPhone
• Get Google directions and maps from the App
• Add your doctors to the My Doctor favourites list
• Saves all the recent searches for doctors for quick reference
• An icon to the Poison’s Hotline

Also on the menu there are links to other AMA programs like:

• AMA Schools
• All About You magazine
• Your Hospital’s Health and
• AMA Membership

Upon tapping ‘Find a Doctor’ the App finds general practitioners who are nearby the user.

The results of the search are displayed as pins on a map showing the users current location and doctors nearby them. When the user taps the pin, a brief information field comes up with the doctor’s name and address.

 

When ‘Search for Doctor’ is tapped, the user is presented with a screen where they can search for a doctor based on either the state, suburb, postcode or the name of the doctor.

During any of the above operations, the user has the option to add a particular doctor to their favourites list which is called ‘My Doctor’. This list is accessible from the main menu of the App and is also editable.

To aid the users during frequent searches, a list containing the recent searches by the user is available from the main menu which is called ‘Recent Search’.
